Happy New Year! It has been quite some time since I have written a blog post. Since moving my practice to my home in Sherwood Park this past spring, my schedule has become jam packed with people wanting to find wellness in body, mind, and spirit. For this I am incredibly grateful, though it is my intention for 2019 to be a bit more consistent in communicating with you all through blog posts and newsletters.
Speaking of intentions, do you have any?
Notice I said intentions NOT resolutions! I am not a fan of "New you/ New Year resolutions" I feel like it sends the message that something is wrong with you and that you need to "fix" this area of fault in the new year. I much prefer to set an intention that is grounded within self-love. When we set an intention through the lens of self- love, we are more likely to succeed at achieving that intention, while also being gentle with ourselves if we stray from it a bit.
Growth is not linear, there is no quick fix, no lightning fast jump in consciousness, no magic pills. So maybe see if you can ditch the resolutions this year, and instead take some time to reflect on the past year, noticing areas that you might like to infuse with more self-love. From that place, maybe set an intention on an area of growth for 2019, and remember, don't beat yourself up if you don't make it. We have a whole lifetime to learn and grow. Let 2019 be about the journey - not the destination.
